Chrysanthemum
Chrysanthemum has a very unique name. Her peers makes fun of her for having a unique name. At one point she she wanted to change her name but the support of her parents and her teacher made her more confident with her name. This book could be used to teach students to accept things about themselves that they can not change and that everyone is different and unique! I can have the students talk about one special characteristic about themselves and discuss it with the class.
